This was my first session after a six month pandemic hiatus. Six months of four kids at home which was an absolutely beautiful experience but I was so ready to get back to work. I was scared I wouldn’t remember how to photograph a family or that the kids wouldn’t respond to me with a mask on or how to keep those giggles flowing without being able to get close. I was a ball of nerves but I am so happy they made it so incredibly easy on me!
I was so excited when Dad reached out for a surprise session for his family to celebrate their anniversary with a vacation to San Diego. Who doesn’t love a trip with a surprise!? He coordinated everything for their family. I was beyond amazed when he told me it was their first session because they were such naturals!
Family sessions have my whole heart. I just love them. I love the sunshine and the smiles and I love being present in these moments and seeing the dynamics unfold. The light they shine was uniquely theirs and absolutely radiant for our session. Having beautifully fun and genuinely kind humans to work with fills my heart up like nothing else. It is the greatest gift of having this job and the one I am most grateful for.
